Guilian Grasso, Age 15, Boulder City

BOULDER CITY, NV - Skateboarders riding without helmets is an unfortunate and common sight throughout many neighborhoods in our country. An accident Sunday morning in Boulder City now serves as a cautionary tale to those who take safety for granted.

Giulian Grasso, 15, hopes to become a Navy SEAL one day. He was riding a longboard down a street in Boulder City without a helmet when a fall caused major swelling in his brain. Doctors have removed a piece of his skull and are keeping him in a coma.

Giulian's father, Jeff Grasso, is a Boulder City police officer who saves lives. He has no control over his son's. "I couldn't do anything to help him," said Jeff Grasso, fighting back tears. "The only ones that can help him are doctors and God. He's in God's hands now."

Giulian is currently on life support and in extremely critical condition, according to his family.

On Thursday night, hundreds gathered for a vigil in Boulder City, offering prayers and support. They believe it will help save Giulian's life.

"It's been five days and he's still pulling through," said Giulian's older brother, Tore Grasso. "He's still hanging on, so I know he'll make it."

Many who attended the vigil are Giulian's classmates at Boulder City High School, including Stephen Rea, who was boarding with Giulian at the time of the accident.

"None of us ever wear helmets," Rea confessed. "We never thought we would come close to getting hurt that bad." The tragedy has taught some of the teens who attended the vigil a tough lesson. "We need to wear a helmet, to be more safe," said another friend of Giulian's, Speedy Dillon.

Lord, please hear our shared hopes and prayers for Guilian Grasso and all teens fighting for their life this day. Grant healing where there is suffering and wisdom where there is a lack of life experience. Honor all our prayers said today out of love and great compassion. May your perfect will be done as we place all our trust in you. Amen

A Wheelchair Victim

SEATTLE, Washington A 27-year-old man in a wheelchair was critically injured after he was hit by a car Saturday evening in White Center, according to deputies. The man was crossing in a crosswalk when the car slammed into him.

According to police, the 20-year-old driver stopped and pulled over after the collision. She did not appear to have been drinking or using drugs, police said. The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and as of Monday morning the mans condition was still critical.

Lord, we pray for all disabled and wheelchair bound people, that you may lighten their burdens and heal their bodies and souls. Accept their suffering for the good of souls and unite their lives with your risen presence so that they may be at one with You in this life and the next.

Lord, we pray for all those unknown or unnamed persons, who are suffering this day and in need of your healing. Provide them with who or what they need to feel your mercy and love.

Lord, we pray for all those who are lost or forgotten. Remember them and help them know they are loved and dear to your heart.

Lord, remember all those souls living and deceased, who have no one to pray for them. Through your divine intervention and revelation grant them the joy of living in your presence now and always. We ask this in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen

Teela Murphy, Age 5, and The Smith Family

FAIRHOPE, Alabama - A judge set bond at $50,000 for the teenager accused of killing his 5-year-old sister, Teela Murphy, and critically wounding his 3-year-old brother.

17-year-old Christopher Tyler Smith is charged as an adult, with wreckless manslaughter.

The kids were playing behind their mobile home on Hwy 181 and Mosley Road around 6:15 when they were shot. Smith told police he was sighting a .270 caliber rifle when the gun went off. Chief Bill Press says Smith was 50-60 yards away from his siblings when the shot was fired. The .270 caliber rifle is commonly used to hunt deer. A Fairhope police officer in the area heard the gunshot and found the kids lying in a backyard, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Murphy, who was a kindergartener at Fairhope Elementary School, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 3-year-old brother was hit in the kidney area. He was taken by helicopter to USA Medical Center and is listed in critical condition after undergoing a second surgery.

Lord, grant eternal rest to Teela Murphy and healing for her brother who is in critical condition. We pray for Christopher Smith for mercy, wisdom and forgiveness as he suffers from bitter remorse. Comfort his family and bring consolation to all involved.

Hail Mary, full of grace blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen

Randy, Age 23, New York City

New York City, NY - Randy, age 23, seems healthy on the outside, his life seems to be going well. He lives in an up-scale apartment, drives a fancy car and is successful at work. Yet, Randy is in despair and is considering spiritual suicide. He has lost his believe in God, he does not trust society and has lost hope. Nothing seems to matter. He stopped praying a long time ago and has become luke warm and spiritually numb.

Randy's spirit has whithered over a long period of time. Through his choices he has become self-centered and alienated from his family and friends. He has lost his sense of belonging and connectedness to others. His thoughts of what would make him happy have left him empty. He is feeling alone and there seems to be no where to turn. But....

The "Good News" of the Easter Season is that we are not alone, God loves us and we belong to Him. Our life is not our own. We have a sacred destiny. God is in charge. We are His beloved children!

Lord, by your cross and resurrection save us all and draw us closer to You so that we may experience your grace and Divine presence for in your presence is the fullness of joy.

Help Randy and all those in need to pray always and turn to You, for your Mercy is endless and the treasury of your grace inexhaustible. Thank You for your gift of New life for by your death and resurrection You have set us free. You are the Savior of the world. Amen
