The Children of Christmas

Scottsdale, AZ - Let us pray for all children at Christmas, especially the abused, the homeless, the forgotten, the exploited and the marginalized.

Jesus came among us at Christmas in the form of a child, small, innocent and pure. God wanted His Son to be born in a manger lowly, defenseless and small to remind us that every child is a sacred gift give to us as His treasure. His children deserve every ounce of our kindness, love, gentleness and goodness.

God came as a child so we might treasure our children as His Divine gift. God reminds us at this holy time that all His children are sacred and belong to Him. They deserve all the care and nurturing we can give for they are the Divine presence among us, born of God's love and caring for us. They are God's sacred gift and legacy to us.

In prayer, let us remember all the children who are abused, like Rob because his physical needs are perceived by his parents as an occasion of abuse. Let us remember the children in the womb, who are endanger of being aborted because their life is thought of as an inconvenience. Let us remember the children dying of hunger in the Sudan or the children of war-torn countries where no relief will be felt during this Holy Season.

Lord, we pray for all needy children and their parents, victims of abuse and those that victimize children. Send your Holy Spirit to bless them, open their hearts to your love and care and end the selfish concerns that cause abuse, violence and war.

Lord, in this season of joy and wonder bring your peace to so many who are marginalized by the violence of others. Send thoughtful caring adults to nourish your children so that they might know the joy, peace and love, which the Holy Family knew at the birth of your Son.

Lord, let nothing obscure the Holy Gifts you wish to share with us through the coming of your Son. Convert hearts this Christmas Season; make souls new so that they are filled with love, compassion and joy at this Holy Time; let this be a true season of peace and joy for children all over the world.

Please pray for a child, adopt a child in need or pray for the conversion of all those who exploit children because of lust or greed. Share God's love at Christmas for children all over the world, in your neighborhood and in your family. Share the gift God which He has given - Divine love and eternal peace with those you love and those who are in most need.

Lord, reveal your face in every child; bless every heart with great love and give us the wisdom to receive your infinite goodness every day of the year.

We ask this through the intercession of the Holy Family and especially your Incarnate Son Jesus. Amen

The Salvation Army and all its Efforts

Glendale, AZ - The Salvation Army's outreach to the needy in Glendale, AZ has not been dampened by the recent robbery of $4000 from their donations. A new donor has made up the difference. Their focus remains positive and good especially during adversity.

During the stress of this Holy Season, let us remember that the Lord's presence remains with us in all that we do and in the many organizations devoted to goodness and serving those in need. Inspite of the trials and the stresses of this Season, let us remain positive, kind and good.

Let us remember, the light of our Lord does not come in material things but in the great love extended by thousands of caring people.

Lord, help us look for the incarnated Jesus in the homeless, the hungry and forgotten this Advent Season,

Remember your soul is a search engine for God; let no opportunity to do good be left unnoticed. May your hearts continued to be filled with the Holy Spirit, abounding in love and good works for you are the instruments of God, like Mary, ushering in the gifts of God, right where you are.

In our smallness and littleness, God comes to grace His people; making His love manifest by all that we do.

May God multiply all your efforts to make Him present every where you go. Lord, may your perfect will be done by all we do unto eternity. In Jesus' name we pray ... Amen
